Jon Augustavo, sometimes known as Jon Jon, is a director and cinematographer from Seattle, Washington. Jon attended Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California for film, specifically narrative filmmaking and cinematography. Under the tutelage of Affonso Beato ASC, Augustavo blossomed into a dynamic director and cinematographer. Jon began his career shooting videos for independent Seattle artists such as Blue Scholars, Sol and J. Pinder. Augustavo is however most well known for his visual collaboration with Seattle based musicians, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. For the group, Augustavo created two music videos that garnered worldwide attention, racking up nearly 20 million views in less than two months. The video for ‘Same Love,’ was spotted by Ellen Degeneres and was played on her show while Macklemore & Ryan Lewis performed the track. Jon considers himself a dramatic storyteller with an eye for composition that combines fine art form with a commercial edge.
