Animal Gladiators, a two hour special directed by ALEXANDRE MOORS, premiered on Animal Planet in December, 2008. The team traveled to Vancouver, Canada and Oduna, Tunisia for a 4-week live action shoot, capturing footage for the entire show, including visuals of animals on the attack and those needed to transform the ruins of a 2000 year-old colosseum into the famed Colosseum of ancient Rome.

ALEXANDRE also took responsibility for all special effects for Animal Gladiators. Everything from intricate animated mosaic schematics to a fully CG elephant stampede was crafted in-house. Live action footage from the overseas shoots was composited into stunning, VFX-enhanced action sequences and in two months, UVPH completed a photo-real 3D model of Rome.
